A HEART FOR THE WIDOWED….Veterans continue to serve others

When McWhorter-Weston VFW Post 1118 (Cushing, OK)  was recently presented a check by Oklahoma American Veterans News  the post chose to use the money toward hosting a special Valentines lunch, inviting the widowed in the community as guests of honor.

All widows, widowers and pastors from the area are cordially invited to a special Valentines Day lunch at the VFW Post  at 6600 E Main, in Cushing,  on Sunday February 14, 2016.  Doors will open at 12:00.

Research shows that acts of kindness are often passed on, when we realize how much others care,  creating a domino effect that can ignite a community.

Valentines Day also coincides with the first day of Random Acts of Kindness Week which
runs February 14-20, 2016.

Few things are as clear in scripture as the biblical imperative to care for widows.

Widows often feel left out on Valentines Day as they no longer have their sweetheart with them.

Encouragement and reassurance from others provides hope and comfort. When
one realizes that they are not alone, afterall, they can look to the future, with a deepened faith and a renewed sense of enthusiasm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~                The Governor of Oklahoma and the Cushing, OK City Council have issued proclamations honoring the widowed on Valentines Day.
