Illegally Parked or Inoperable Vehicle on Private Property (yard, driveway, etc. Tulsa city ordinance prohibits the parking of vehicles in yards and requires vehicles in driveways to be fully operable.
Inoperable Motor Vehicles (Non-running vehicle; [any vehicle incapable of legally or physically being operated, for whatever reason] in the driveway, street or yard. A vehicle must appear to be operable and capable of being legally operated. (Signs of inoperable vehicles are flats, expired tags, missing parts, weeds growing around it.) Vehicles cannot be used for storage or be stored in the yard, street or driveway. An inoperable vehicle or an “abandoned” vehicle, or the parts thereof on Private Property (yard, driveway, etc) must be removed or the vehicle stored in a fully enclosed structure and not be visible from the street or from other private property. Vehicles are prohibited from parking on the street in the same space in excess of twenty-four hours. Title 37 Section 519. (See also: Title 37 Sections 303 & 305).
When a vehicle parked on the street has not been moved in some time request that the abandoned vehicle be tagged. It is always illegal to park a boat in the street.

Provide the closest address, the color, model, and tag number of vehicles.
These violations, handled by the Tulsa Police Department, will be “red-tagged” for tow unless moved in 24 hours.

Recreational vehicles (RV), boats, trailers, commercial equipment, work trailer or commercial vehicles (such as box vans, dump trucks, semitrailers, semi trucks, dump trucks, wreckers etc.) Tulsa city ordinance prohibits parking any vehicle not customary to residential use from parking in residential neighborhoods unless they are within a fully enclosed structure. Recreational Vehicles, which includes boats, according to Zoning Section 45.150-A, and Section 95.210, have 48 hours to load & unload! After that it must be stored in a garage or rear. A corner lot is always deemed to have reasonable access to rear yard. A fence does not prevent access. It is always illegal to park a boat in the street.
Parking of Commercial Trucks No vehicle required to be registered as a “commercial truck” pursuant to OAC 710:60 – 3 – 91 may be parked or stored on a lot within a residential zoning district. No commercial equipment–semi trucks, dump trucks, wreckers–may be parked in residential neighborhoods. Tulsa Zoning Section 45.130

Jay Parking/British Parking (Parking on the wrong side of the street) – facing against traffic. Tulsa revised traffic code says that “no person shall park a vehicle on a street unless the vehicle is headed in the direction of traffic with the curb side wheels of the vehicle parallel to & within twelve (12) inches of the curb or roadside edge. Jay park Title 37 – Tulsa Traffic Code Chapter 5 Section 511 Don’t let it reach chronic proportions in your neighborhood! Call the police non-emergency number, 596-9222, to report it. An officer in your district will be issued the call & will drive by when possible to verify the violations & write tickets. Since this usually happens when people return for the evening, from work be sure to advise the police of the time it is happening in your area.
